Bearded Dragon Breeders … HELP !!!!!?

We have two red beardies and left them together for breeding purposes, and we found that the female always big and lumpy, so we assumed that she was pregnant. We have a box of sand in their tanks, and they would get into it and dig the around all the time. One day we came in and she had laid her eggs (all 28) NOT in the sand and they were all dried up and destroyed. So, my question is, does this bearded dragon only the maternal instincts are lacking probably have to? Since this is her first clutch, it is possible that eggs were slugs, and therefore they were all from the time we found they dried, but I thought it was common sense for them to lay their eggs in the sand. Any help would be great, because I am worried she will lay another clutch and they ruin it.

It may be possible that they were not good eggs. The next time you might want to damp perlite or vermiculite to use them substrates provide a more aesthetically pleasing and also want to keep you wet the eggs by the substrate slightly damp for them. It can also appear as a desirable place to lay eggs for your dragon. The eggs may also have been good, they can only be dried under the heat lamp, depending on how long they were out. 28 eggs is good Amount for a first clutch. when you know they will lay their eggs simply to check on her often and I will usually spend the most time in their field was, to lay before them.
